1- It is an active, intelligent, happy and trainable breed
2- The Havanese breed is ideal for the guardian who wants a small lovely dog
3- Does not need much exercise. They can be content with frequent walks and games of fetch
4- They prefer being with their owners, but do well if trained to be in there Crate. Beacuse they are know to be "velco" dogs, it is easy for them to develop anxiety when left for long periods. At an early age, it's important that you train your pup to be alone to avoid developing separation anxiety.
5- Havanese generally mature at 1 year of age, although they reach their full size around 6 to 8 months, usually anywhere from 9lb-15lb.
6- They are active dogs and enjoy learning tricks and playing games with their owners
7- They need socialization to prevent them from becoming timid with strangers. Make sure to start young.
8- Havanese need a large amount of interaction with people
9- They are generally good with other pets if properly socialized, and they enjoy outside activities
10- The Havanese can be a good watchdog but poor guard dog because of the small size
11- Occasionally, one may bark excessively if not properly trained
12- Havanese require brushing and combing three or more times a week to ensure a mat-free coat
13- They do not require trimming, but their hair does grow fast. Therefore, be prepared for daily grooming for longer coats.
